Luis E. Gonzales Carrasco
I am a Senior Economist at the Central Bank of Chile.
I hold a Master of Public Policy (MPP) from the University of Chicago (Harris School of Public Policy), with a concentration in Energy, Environment, and Economics. I also earned a Master’s degree in Applied Macroeconomics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC) and a B.A. in Economics from the Universidad Católica Boliviana (UCB).
Previously, I worked in the Bolivian government at the Social and Economic Policy Analysis Unit (UDAPE). I also served as an advisor, consultant, and Head of the Studies Department at the Ministry of Finance of Chile (2012–2014; 2018–2019). Additionally, I was a Research Associate and Senior Economist at the Latin American Center for Economic and Social Policies (CLAPES UC) at PUC.
My research interests focus on Macroeconomics, Economic Growth, Productivity, Energy, Environment, and Climate Change.
